The territory in the surroundings of Magliano Sabina (RI) (Magliano, Foglia, Grappignano, Poggio Sommavilla) has been inhabited since prehistoric times: countless generations of hunters, herdsmen, farmers, etc. have continued to find here the ideal natural conditions for life. The tracks in the area that these men have left are abundant, but little remained uncovered and visible. It’s only thanks to the work of archaeologists and Magliano’s Community that the memory of the past is preserved into a small but beautiful Archaeological Museum, which tells the history of an area that, as experts know, is considered one of the most important of the Tiberine Sabina for regard of the archaic populations (VIII - VII century BC.). We'll go through "breathing in" the antiquity of this territory, in a naturalistic excursion among rolling hills with wheat, intensively cultivated already by the ancient Romans, and streams, near which early human settlements have been established 150,000 years ago! We'll observe nature and man's work in the landscape of today and we will retrace the evolution from the old times, then with the help of a local archaeological guide, we will see the remnants that this very ancient territory has preserved for us, by visiting the museum in Magliano.
